hey guys,
got a 1.6 carby for my sierra (thanks steve) :D do they bolt straight on or is it easier too change the manifold aswell? im just asking because there seems to be alot more wires and hoses on the 1.6 carby than the sierra carby.

cheers marc

1.6 carby will bolt to the 1.3 manifold but the 1.3 air hat won't fit without modifying it a bit.

I never got the carby I was supposed to, guy never got back to me. So haven't been able to do it yet.

Soon as I find another for a good price I'll do just the carby and play from there.

If you dont ask, you wont ever know...

I dont have my 89 Vit with the carby 1.6L anymore so i cant help much... i know there is a thread showing where all the pipes and wires go...
That carby you got looks like it needs a good clean, i can see all the crap on the butterfly valve... time to run some carby cleaner through it, and bung some fuel system cleaner in the tank as well...

If you really want to get the Carby going well, i would put a Carby kit through it as well, they are available on ebay, and i am guessing any Zook parts place will have them too, and probably more expensive too...

Post subject:  Re: yet another carby question..

Repco has them too, Im a trade member so i only know my price, But im nearly positive i only get 45% off retail on this kind of items and after postage that kit costs about 70% more then i would be paying,

So may be helpful to give repco a ring.

Post subject:  Re: yet another carby question..

that doesnt really make sense after reading,

basically im saying repco will probably have them for cheaper that that ebay kit.
