i was thinkin on the outside of the chassis on each side to see out the window and with 2 on the rear pointing out on a 45degree angle

To get the best placement you need to have the lights and some wire and try them in several positions around/under the car at night to see where they throw the best light, with as little wheel/tyre shadow as possible.

i'm running 2 bosch 55w clear lens "fog" lights off the front of a volvo of all things, they're well sealed & cheap ($10).

the front one was recessed into the front bumper & the rear one mounts up where the floor flattens out in the rear above the diff, i need to do something with the front one as the plastic bumper has been replaced with a steel bar.

I use the BL-104W2 as interior lights - had them left over from another install. They throw decent light. Off ebay you'll pay less than half

if that link doesn't work in the future search '12v led 16' international and do some hunting!

What's the brightness and spread of the BL-104W2? Are they effective as short distance work lights?
