i have a nt sierra with the 1.6 efi swap and my starter motor clicks alot before it finally starts sometimes it doesn't click at all and i have to clutch start it, i bought a vitara starter thinking this would be the correct one but it is to big in size..

someone told me i can grind part of the housing and make it fit, is this true??

what type of starter should i be looking for? and where do i find one??

You need one of them..

Either that or grind bit's off your block or the starter you just got.. 8O

You got the Sierra clicky starter syndrome... even my Vit caught it... he he...
There is a 40cm length of multi plugin wires that go from the key barrel, to the firewall, apparently, the starter wire in it breaks down, and you get bad contact, hence the clicky starter...

It's worth a go, but by the sound's of it yours is dead...

If you put a relay on it you may get another month out of it, could be a cheaper option for now.
