Hey,
Ive come across a cheap (~$500) complete swift sedan manual 1.6 (i think tbi) What is involved in putting this motor into my sierra that is different from a normal 1.6 swap? Dizzy? Radiator hoses?

It will be almost the same as doing a baleno swap, which there are quite a few threads on this website, detailing the required mods to fit an east west motor in N/S orientation.

Just try the search function.

As for the motor, I have used this motor before with no issues what so ever.

Go for it.

if that's the case I will use the setup i found I was just stating info I was told and I didn't buy the setup because of that info

and how many swift motors have you had to deal with on a daily basis?

they are a different casting to a baleno head or a vitara head. the casting had issues and 99.9% of the heads will crack. if it has been repaired by a reputable shop it will be fine, but its the luck of the draw and if the head is cracked or will crack they dump a bucket load of water in the sump.....bye bye crank....


if you buy the motor get the head completely checked out.


i'm offering this info on the countless conversions an repairs i had to do (not just experience with maybe one motor). i ended up offering a conversion kit to run a vit mpfi head with swift tbi....problem solved.

4 or 5. No probs yet. Guess that .1% is all on MY doorstep
