In what respect? They are the same but the flanges are different. So if you have a WT and you have a NT all you have to do is change the flanges and all good. Hope this helps. |

Thanks Bruce... That's exactly what I needed to know. Ok, another question... How much should I pay for a 2nd hand transfer case? Also, for some strange reason my zook, which is a leafy has a coily (chain driven) transfercase. I want to swap it over to a gear driven case WT case. In doing this, will I need to change the driveshafts? Or will the coily driveshafts be ok? Thanks... |

Driveshafts will be OK, but you will need the WT Tcase mounts as well. My WT was the same when I bought it, it had a (stupid) coily Tcase in it... I have a set of mounts here if you need them... |

Actually, I had the swap a 25mm spacer from the front shaft to the rear shaft when I swapped Tcases, but I have a sizeable lift... |

I believe the original owner From when the zook was new had the coily transfer case installed when on holidays as that's all that available at the time. This was before Joe did the work on the zook. I'm planning on using a mighty kong transfer cradle. Will this mean that I won't have to use the WT mounts? Thanks for answering my questions guys

the mighty kong has it own mounts so yes that alone will be fine. as for how much to pay it all depends on the local market. there are a couple up here for around $100 |

ah cool... So that's the plan, get me a WT case, mighty kong, a set of 4.9 reduction gears (I have 5.1 diff gears) and a transfer case rebuild kit and my zook's gearing will be awesome! I'm just not sure If I should worry about a rocktoy ring or not? I've heard that chris has stopped making them for a while.. can any1 confirm this... |

your running 33's arent you? if you go to 4.9's you might be geared way to far. it will mean your car is 26% lower than stock in high range, which means revs, around 4100rpm at 100km/h |

thats what i want  it would use stuff all fuel and it would take a big hill to stow it down.

oops I meant 4.16's... So 12% higher in high range & 84% lower in low range... It'll still rev pretty high, but that's ok, my zook is our third car and rarely gets driven... |

Ozook recently used a roktoy ring and a mighty kong together, so it can be done, but it might be overkill.. Beta to be safe than sorry tho... |

Dank raves about his auto setup... But I like the manual, plus I don't wanna spend heaps of cash swapping over gearboxes at the moment when the coily transfercase is the real prolem at the moment... |

No, those figure aren't right. First of all, Hi range will be lower with any of the reduction gear sets, but because You have a Coily Transfer which has a Hi of 1.320 and a Lo of 2.123, if you fit 4.16 gears your Hi will be 19.7% lower than what you have now, and your Lo will be 96% lower. If you go 4.9s, Hi will drop by 23% and Lo by 129% from your current gearing. |

Confirmation on the roctoy ring.. He is moving interstate and until he susses everything out where he moves to then they will not be made. There is no time frame from my understanding. hey guys... this is a bit of a gravedig, but i've got my new transfercase built with 4.16 reduction gears. I've also got the mighty kong cradle and a roktoy ring. Now my question is, which jackshaft do i use? As i have the G16B with 5 speed vitara gearbox (with the vitara transfer case removed). The jackshaft i currently have is the wrong length as the coily transfer case and leafy transfer cases are totally different... Do i need a leafy jack shaft, or do i need to get one custom made? This is the best picture i have of my current setup... 
any info or pics is appreciated... |

i don't know if that's helpful but i have g16a and vitara 5 speed manual g-box and normal WT t-case in my sierra. jack shaft is shorter than standard WT one. that's how i bought it, so i don't know how much shorter jack shaft is or if there is any difference in the output shaft spline between sierra and vitara g-box |
