ok, im not gunna lie. me and mechanical knowledge dont exactly go hand in hand. so possibly a dumb question, but ill ask away regardless...

playing the the zook today, notice coolant all over the gbox, though it may have come from heater hose, but upon closer inspection not so lucky. seems to be coming from the back of the motor...
car has been quicker to get to operating temp, and running marginally higher on the factory temp gauge. coolant in the radiator is still full, and theres still coolant in the overflow.

so basically i would like to know...
a) what is the problem/could the problem be?
b) how fuct i am?
c) how easy to fix?

heres some pics...

the leak...

Are there any welch plugs back there? Can't remember...

Either that or you have done your head gasket I reckon. It would certainly explain the higher temps too.

check the hoses that go into the carby

Are you 100% sure it's not a leak from a heater hose. Inspect them
all, even go as far as taking them all off. One may have a tiny split creating the leak.

this is what im worried about, head gasket = not fun.

edit, also. not 100% its not one of the heater hoses. just looks more like its coming from the back of the head area..

You could try some Barrs Stop leak as a temp fix...

Hiya... dont know if the Jimnys are the same, but... when i had my Carby Vit, it has coolant hoses that go into the carby, works with the auto choke... i also had coolant leaking at the back of my engine... had a good look around, and found it to be one of the hoses that goes into the carby, the metal pipe it clamps onto had become corroded, and the hose didnt seal properly, took the pipe off, cleaned off the corrosion, put hose back on, and fixed, no more leaking !
This may be your problem if the Jimny is the same...
