Okay so the last couple of days I drove my car it had clunks when braking then it went away for two days. Today when driving to school I noticed that the clunks were worst so i thought i better take it to get fixed sometime this week
Returning to my car a lunch relised that the left hand side drum had about a fair bit of brake fluid dripping onto the cement.

Can someone please tell me what the problem is and how i can fix it? as i have left my car at school because i didn't want to risk it.

Rear wheel bearing has collapsed and the inner seal is leaking diff oil out. Not an easy job to do if you don't know what you're doing.

I presumed it was brake fluid, but it may be oil. But it clunks only happen when braking so i thought it must of been a brake issue?

I'm only guessing. Best to pull it apart to find out what it is. How far from home is it? Can you creep it home?

yeah only 5 min drive and no hills!!!

Check you have a pedal first then have a quick look under the bonnet and make sure you have fluid in the reservoir. If you can get someone else to follow you just creep it home slowly. Then get the back wheels off and have a look.

yeah cheaked the reservoir before leaving school and had about 3/4 full.

I'm with scrawny. There would have to be way less fluid left in the res if it had popped a wheel cylinder. I hope this one don't bite me in the ass, taking sides with a zookless kiwi

Brake fluid will make the shoe's expand a lot quicker than diff oil, & brake fluid has f*#k all lubricating quality's about it, brake fluid will make the shoe's bind up, diff oil smell's funny, no mention of a funny smell.

I'm willing to admit it could be brake fluid but find it easier to believe it's oil. Has anyone ever seen a wheel cylinder pop out? I don't see how it's possible I've seen them leak but not pop out.
