Hi guys, My drums have been machined beyond max diameter and my shoes take two pumps to reach them, AND the adjusters are wound right out. So, I need to find me some new drums. ACT's most reputable brake shop cannot source any new replacements. I've found some on ebay, but the postage from the US is $100+. Have any of you guys sourced some locally? |

Any help would be great Thanks BenT has a kit in research stages i think. Other than that lowrange and places like that do kits, but very few if any incorporate the sierra standard h/brake leaver. |

Sweet thanks heaps Shep i'll keep an eye out for it. Does the kit only work with a certain year/model of calipers and disk or can you use any model sierras or vits? Sorry for all the questions |

i reckon that it would work on any 1.3 leaf model. mine is a 85 1.3 lwb with 89 wt diffs and the trans case is out of a 96 wt. i plan to run sierra discs and calipers on all four wheels with a adjustable prop valve and (thanks to wants33) a trans mounted hand brake. i just have to pick up some bits next time i am in town and then i can install the kit. |

Sorry Shep i think i explained it wrong, i looked on the lowrange web site and they supply a kit "Trail Tough Economy Disk Brake Kit" to change the rears to disk but dont supply the calipers or disks. i havent seen the benT or know how to find it, but was wondering what model sierra or possibly vit, i need to find to get a set of calipers off to complete the conversion. Thanks again |

benT is a kiwi fella that makes great stuff for suzukis and because kiwiland is a thirdworld country the stuff is really cheap. http://www.auszookers.com/index.php?nam ... rofile=625 with his kit ya just use sierra front discs and calipers but ya can fit them on the rear. some model sierras will need the hand brake fitted to the trans case because some have it on the rear wheels which ya loose when going to discs. basically if you have WT diffs you will need to source a NT trans case handbrake, luckily it is a straight bolt on. |
