Post subject:  How do you put the CV joint back in

Hi Guys,

So I replaced the oil seals in the front passenger side of my sierra and had a lot of trouble getting the CV joint back in the diff. Also had the same problem when I took it out a week or two ago when I was scoping out the job. Both times the CV just went back together randomly after a lot of stuffing around. Is it just me or is there a trick to it?

Thanks
Jake

Just a case of holding your tongue right. Did you struggle with both sides or just the long side? Could have a bent diff housing

You have to get the axle up to the middle of the centre to go into the splines. They can be tricky because of the extra weight for the longside axle.

I normally make the axle pivot off the seal like a see saw, but that can damage the seal. So be carefull!
