started the car this morning and its reving around 1500 rev's and thought it was the choke, And got to the end of the fwy and its reving at a perfect 850, confirming the choke idea. it stayed like that alll the way to lancelin, Got to my first surfspot, and let it cool down for about an hour and got into the car, and she was back to 1500 revs, strange as the choke usually wouldnt kick in if its still warmish. anyway i got out to the sand dunes, and was mucking around out there for a hour or two but it wouldnt drop bellow 1500 revs at all.
any way since that 1hour rest it hasnt come down from 1500 revs!!! and thats a good 200km driving.
so this is what i have put it down to. The fast idle isnt able to sit against the stop/actuator, there is about 1mm gap between the actuator and the bolt head, and before you say anything there is also a 1mm gap between the screw too (bellow the fast idle bolt).
i can use finger pressure to bring the intire mechanism together, and make it sit at 850revs again... so what would be causing the fast idle mechanism to not sit right. anything that would make it seize up like this?
hope that makes sense, Im not really in the writing mind set, so im talking like a monkey im sure.
