hey guys i kinda bit the bullet today and decided id go work on the truck try get it bit cleaner with the cast on. the cast is now black lol. i have uncounted some problems and the list is as following. 1.my dashboard lights battery and whatever s next to it only 2 of them work but randomly they will just not come on and the car wont even turn over, has a brand new battery in it. 2.my 4wd light that was working now doesn't not sure why and yes im putting the car in 4x4 and taking out. 3.for some reason not sure if my alternator is rooted or something else, but if car is turned on and the head lights are on, when you rev the car from idle sitting still the lights and cluster lights all become brighter when revved and dropped when back to idle. 4.i also have installed a new speedo cable and since installing the cable to transfer has got a very small leak is there a seal in there as when the cables out oil doesn't poor out. 5.last thing has any one re-wired a reverse light if so can they please give me directions as it will not work but it could also be that the reverse light installed is blown as its a work lamp. even directions of how to wire the stock wiring would be great. thanks for your help guys any help would be great |

Bought a new alternator to replace the buggered one today. it's hard yakka trying to take a radiator etc out when there's a bloody cast in the way, let alone try and fit the new one. |

the lights might be pulsing with the revs due to your flat battery, you did say it wont turn over didnt you? |

I reckon you have a bad earth from the battery or a loose terminal. |

I would put money on the reverse switch ( on the gearbox) being stuffed. Its quite common. Infact mine is stuffed too |

Was thinking that too. Look at all th stuff you have either fitted or removed since you have had it, it sound's like something you have "unsettled". LWB |

1.my dashboard lights battery and whatever s next to it only 2 of them work but randomly they will just not come on and the car wont even turn over, has a brand new battery in it. is this the back lighting for the speedo and tacho your refering to, or the oil, batt and hand brake light your talking about? 2.my 4wd light that was working now doesn't not sure why and yes im putting the car in 4x4 and taking out. unscrew it out of your Tcase jiggle the switch, spray it with WD40, if this doesn't work, follow the wiring back till you find a cut line.... 3.for some reason not sure if my alternator is rooted or something else, but if car is turned on and the head lights are on, when you rev the car from idle sitting still the lights and cluster lights all become brighter when revved and dropped when back to idle. yes, its the alt putting out more volts, i would spray and grab all your elec wires and tighten them up just to tick some things off of the list. You won't notice this while driving because a sierra don't speed up fast enough to be notice able while driving 4.i also have installed a new speedo cable and since installing the cable to transfer has got a very small leak is there a seal in there as when the cables out oil doesn't poor out. 5.last thing has any one re-wired a reverse light if so can they please give me directions as it will not work but it could also be that the reverse light installed is blown as its a work lamp. even directions of how to wire the stock wiring would be great. it will just be the box, it's the same on my lwb... thanks for your help guys any help would be great |

If the zook want turn over, we just had a problem with the fusible link, which supplies power to everything. Check it and then check all the connectors are on tight. You can get a good wiring diagram for your zook at the following link. http://www.4x4.in.th/manual_sj413/index.html |

i have a new switch i got off jas just wondering can any one tell me what color wires joins to each other that way ill wire that part up correct and work my way back to the in car then reverse light thanks. also 31zook its the battery light oil light which doesn't work and handbrake light that's not hooked up and check engine light that dose work. pretty sure the head lights work if it happens today ill try and check that. and ill also do the 4x4 switch today and hopefully that will fix it. and ill go over all alt wires today and i cant drive the car it was parked in the shed at night that's why i noticed the drop and pick up. and its only sometimes that dosnt turn over and nothing works. after i installed the new battery it turned over so fast even with the starter on its way out and a webber that use to take years to get going. ill go check the wires and try fix the 4x4 switch now and come back hopefully some one can help me with the rest or any other ideas. also any one know how to stop the transfer leaking from speedo cable? |

Remove the cable from transfer. Drain the oil out. Remove the speedo cable drive gear. Replace O ring on drive gear. Reassemble. |

well been playing, and i took the 4x4 switch out and found the wires where they join to the switch exposed, so im guess thats my problem as i pulled it out got wd40 onto the box and the switch and still doesn't work so im guessing i need a new switch :S. i also worked out and wired up the reverse light the only problem there now is that the actual light is blown and it was sealed unit, so just need a new light for it. any cheap good recommendations? also i pulled the terminals off my battery and swapped them with the duel system clamps i have but yet to fit as i need a tray and a drill, but since putting the new terminals on hasnt played up once so hopefully that's the end of that issue. the lights still pulse with the revs of the car when taken off idle and when it returns i'm guessing its the alternator, as i can turn the car off and on with head lights turned on no problem unless any one has a idea of how to solve that problem. so now i just have to fix the 4wd switch, replace the reverse light and fix the leak from the speedo cable in transfer and get a sound system as no stereo at all and upgrade the alternator to falcon one and change the pulley then start the real modding. job interview tomorrow so hopefully all goes well with that and i have a new job so i can fund it! |
