Post subject:  92 Sierra Front Axle - Help Needed

Hello,

I'm halfway through replacing the swivel hub seals on my 92 Sierra and need some advice regarding the front axles and CV joints. I want to clean out the old grease from the CV joints on the front axles. To me the best way to do this would be to disassemble the CV joint but I can't work out how to. Are they pressed together? Should I just try to clean the CV's whilst they are still assembled?

Cheers,

mat edo it while they are together, they do come apart but the extra 4 hours it will take you isnt worth it :)

It didn't take me 5 weeks it took 8. I had trouble getting the parts, the supplier lost my order. Then I got busy at work and couldn't get back to it.
