hi all, im going to be building my zook into more of a buggy one of these days, so just collecting to parts needed to do it all in one go. the plan is vit g16b conversion, Lift to fit 32" tyres, reduction gears to suite 32's lockers front and rear, and all that jazz. dont want to go over board with it all, But want it to be a beast for a bit of local fun and keep my hj47 as a touring ute. what this thread is all about is basically to find out what would be suite these specks on my list, So, what sort of lift am i going to be looking at for 32's to clear nicely. not sure with zook's but would a 3" sus and 1" bl do it or would a 5" sus lift be better suited? for reduction gear's, what ratio's would suit? lockers wize as its going to be more a weekend toy, But still being driven down the shops etc when the ute is too big was thinking the lokka's front and rear. and finally, other upgrades that im thinking are a good idea are as followed *power steering *brake upgrade for front (vit caliper and rotors) *and please add anything els that would be a good upgrade. Planning to get all the bits together over the next couple of months and get it upto speck before christmas. but thats if it all goes to plan. wich often isnt the case. Please feel free to add anything i have missed out. Jordan |

So basically you want to buy a vitara estate for parts. I have 2" suspension, 2" BL, and my 32" pedes rub a bit. I need to do some guard chopping still. You will also need -25 offset on the rims I believe (I have 3p and they rub on the front suspension at full lock). 6.5 reduction gear and maybe diff gears too. What sort of lockers you looking at? Lockrights are tolerable in the rear. I havent tried the front. Air lockers are pricey, but exceptionally better. Will it be road legal? |

Thanks for reply, for lockers it will be lockrights, yeah like Airlockers, had them in my old lux, But cant justify spending more on a set of lockers then the car is worth. road legal... not legal, but will it be registerd. this is the reason for not wanting to go to overboard so when im on the road doesnt get too much attraction. 2 inch rears all round and a small guard cut. Do a bodylift if you need it. 6.5's and the 1.6 efi should be enough to get it moving. Cromo front end. Transfer lift. Sliders. Do you plan on doing comps in it. Realistically unless you plan on comping it 31's would be fine for around Perth and are alot easier to fit and disguise. |

not planning on comps, Just the fact with past cars (hilux, landcruiser) that i got hung up on more then a few times and im sure that extra 1" diameter would have prevent all that damage to axles. |

Going from a 31 to a 32 only gives you an extra 1/2 inch of diff clearance |

ontop of extra 1/2" clearance you allready have at the centres anyway.31s would be good enough im sure if your backing it up with 6.5s and twin lockrights.sounds like a good little car more than capable if you went 32x11s like BFG,Goodyear,Maxxis etc i think youd start running into trouble with hitting springs on lock etc???or maybe thats only the 33s,i forget |
