Does anyone know where in Brisbane I can take my newly rebuilt vitara for a bloody good tune up? I have done it to the best of my ability, but it can run a lot better!

Look in the Yellow pages, there's a shop in Nudgee or Northgate, i'm pretty sure it's on Johnston Rd. Can't remember his name though.

Always got a bunch of classics out the front which is a good sign, gotta wait a couple of weeks before your turn comes up too

Besides all the linkage adjustments theres really only the idle mixture to set. I believe you haven't really modified the engine far from stock so it shouldnt need a jet change.

Suzuki Sport recommended a guy in Stafford, he is in Wolverhampton Road, he did mine and did a fantasic job

My main issue is that when I accelerate, there is a bit of a hesitation before it goes. It's worst in second - I think it may be a timing issue ? - maybe I should just experiment a bit first ...

any thoughts ?

Have you rebuilt your carb? Could be an accelerator pump issue. Where abouts in briz are you?

Mechanical advance in the dizzy can do that to..

& the vacc advance have a habit of shitting themselves..

I think I've almost nailed it ... bit more advance on the dizzy seems to stop the hesitation - although now it may be a bit too far advanced cause there is a bit of low rpm pinging.....

vac advance is working fine...

would be really good if there was a business in Bris that specialised in Zooks ! - by that I don't mean parts (like suzisport), but tuning and servicing ....

I took for a wheel alignment yesterday and it only +2 on the front left!!! - Remember I did the alignment by eye! - although that's how I use to do a racecar years ago.... but it does go well now ..

bit of whine in the GB and I think there may be a bit of a tranny leak as the bottom of the GB where the drain plug is was a bit wet today after 200k's (50 of which was pretty moderate off road up Mt Mee)...

Nope. back your timing off and play with your mixture, or your mixture, or ..... did I say mixture?

Sounds all to familiar.... trust me... lol

Edit: my theory was when you accelerate, and the plunger pumps more fuel in, if its running to rich it gives it the "slight flooding stutter" and when the motor "catches up" it takes off. Obviously check to make sure your plunger is working first with the airbox off, cause that will cause the same fault.
