What acutally happens, does the car crank. What dash lights are you missing. The alternator and brake warning lights should still work as the wiring for them is independant of the engine. The starter circut should cause the motor to turn over regardless if its carby or injection as it is also independant of the engine managment system. If it doesnt crank at all you have issues in the power supply to the car or the cranking system. Have you grabbed a test light and multimetre and checked everything. Does the ECU turn on when you turn the key to on? Have you checked that you are getting ignition signal from the key at the ECU. I can offer a bit of a hand if your stuck. Basically make sure the base wiring in the car is good first, then grab a wiring diagram and go over all your wiring.
