Anyone used them before? After a head rebuild, I see why I had a few burned out valves. I have a crack between every down pipe of my stock manifold and two cracks between 3 & 4. Not wanting to blow money on a stock manifold I found these on fleabay with free postage for $180. Any advice would be appreciated. |

I got a set of them for a WB ute I had and they leaked. I had to take them off and re-weld them. Then when I put them back on they still leaked and I had to use two gaskets. If I was you I would stay away from MPH. |

That's not uncommon for extractor's tho, not just one brand but all, the face plate's are thinner than std manifold's.. |

Just to clarify, are you talking about 'More Power Headers' (MPH), or 'Maximum Performance Headers' (also MPH)? |

Extractors I thought they were the same, considering the price and the web page link for one lists a Wollongong address and the other set the seller comes from Wollongong. I had a set of Lukey headers on my ZB Fairlane that did the same. As steknig said, its not uncommon with extractors or headers to have this problem and more so the need for 2 gaskets. My problem was probably cause more by the fact that it was a Ford though. |

They have different usernames on Ebay. And the max performance ones have a nameplate. |

I am pretty sure you mean Maximum Performance Headers... when i had my Carby 1.6 Vit, i got a set of them, they are very well made, and good thickness, my engine loved having them on, I had a 2in Sports System put on as well, so it went very well afterwards ! Yeah i would recommend getting them, pretty quick delivery too ! |

How would these compare to the new calmini stainless headers? also, does anyone make headers for the H25 v6? |

As for the H25, I don't believe so, but If I can get hold of an exhaust gasket from each side, I can probably make some. (Mandrel drawn single piece runners into 3way collector and standard flange) Is there much demand for these? |

didn't ODA1 have custom extractors made up & i'm sure he had them for sale for the h25a, i think they might have been diamond encrusted & gold plated going by the price he was after. |

Yes, they come in a kit, as part of a complete exhaust system... and from memory, they were a bit pricey... I have heard that the standard exhaust manifold is pretty good anyway, and that putting headers on the H25A, will not give the engine much more power/torque, maybe 1 or 2hp at the most, but if you put on a better exhaust, the exhaust being the main restriction, will be of much more benefit than extractors... can anybody verify this ? |

High flow cat back system will make more difference than the "extractor's" ODA has, the only thing thay "extract" is a wad of $'s from your wallet. |

So what would be a good price for a 2.5in Sports system with High Flow Cat ? I have been quoted, $340 for 2.5in HF Cat, and $300 for 2.5in muffler and pipe, $640 total ? |

Just make sure you tell them WHERE to run it, and get them to tuck it up nice and high. |

up until recently i believed the whole "bigger extractors=bigger power output"... well, i just had a new set put on (old ones were cracked and leaking badly, i didnt do it for the power upgrade), and this is what ive found: no power increase on the highway at all, but i think it picks up better through town. slightly better fuel economy, but i have only run one tank through and my old extractors were completely shot. eventually going to go high flow cat with 2" exhaust. stock 1.3L sierra engine btw... |

I was going to buy one of the eBay extractors/headers but now I am having second thoughts. I could only find one person that wanted to make a set for around $700 What other brands are out there and what is the quality like? I think these manufactures make one for the Vit EFI. i bought the max headers brand, very quick delivery from sydney. Only problem. the holes drilled out for the manifold studs/bolts were to big, i had to use bigger nuts and bolts and still needed washers to hold them on. |
