i done the rear pinion seal in my zook only to see that its leaking again not long after..... my question is what would prematurely flog out the seal. the diff does have some back lash could this be the cause ???? cheers |

I have the same problem... I'm tempted to try some stop leak or something, but not sure if that will effect the diff oil. I'd put money on the cause being a worn surface of the pinion flange where the seal runs. The only fix for this would be to machine the surface down to accept a speedy sleeve. |

It's possible the flange nut wasn't done up properly and there is play in the bearing. Otherwise as Fatzook suggested |

yeah mine is just replaced and leaking also. like the day after i did it... the nut is as tight as it was before, and there is no more play then normal.... im thinking maybe worn bearings on the pinion..... |

when it leaked originaly did you change the pinion bearings or just chuck a seal in? |

I have new bearings in carrier and pinion, new crush tube and seal. Still leaks

I'm running vitara front flanges off low km imports. they looked miles better than the sierra ones. |

I didn't do them myself, but I know that the guy who did them is not the 'get a bigger hammer' type of guy. What difference would this make anyway Joe? |

there are two types of spline. one is a triangular shape wich goes down to a point on the end, the other is more of a square cut. mix the two together and you can get oil comming up the splines. |

Cool. Mine is definately coming from the seal. Might just speedy sleeve it anyway. |
