OK so I am looking for some tyres for the vit, now seeing its a girly car for camping I cant just go to the tyre shop and say bung another set of MTR's on thanks because, well I just dont think they will be the best option this time round

I am thinking the AT/Rs as I like my MTR's and have heard they work well on a vit and in the size I want (235/75 15)
it will be mostly road driving with lots of sand and dirt road driving, with a bit of hard stuff maybe as well (but no mud if I can avoid the stuff)

but being like averything else 4wd, everybody has an opinion and on some forums that means they are right and the rest is crap, so I thought I would ask some nice people

do you like the tire you have? what do you use it for ? what size? do you like it?

My husband changed my tyres last time & in his infinite wisdom got the Firestones 205/75 15. I've been happy with them actually, they've been a very hardy tyre, but I ain't telling him that!

What we use them for? Mostly road use with some sand & dirt road chucked in now & then.

ETA: Just looked at the tyres you mentioned btw, they look really nice - me like 'em a lot!

i have BF Goodrich A/T (215's i think) on my SWB vit at the moment.
they perform fine for on road driving and sand as for mud they tend to slip a little. I have also recently been thinking about getting a set of mud tyres. if you do go the mud could you please post how they perform on a vit

Hi Timmy, Welcome to Auszookers!

if you are looking for something a bit more mud orientated I cant reccomend the MTR enough, they are chunky enough to work well in mud on a zook but mild enough to not be scary on road in the wet, plus the tread compound means they grip awsome on rock and stuff

I am really considering a set for the vit, even if it is a bit overkill

i have a couple of other questions......
what size rim do i need for 30" tyres.
and i would assume i also need a lift so the tyres dont rub on any part of the car? would a 2 inch work.
what ways can i go about lifting my car without burning a large hole in my pocket. i am only a student!

for a 30 x 9.5 you would need a 7 inch rim, plus they might rub a bit on the front guard

seeing I'm impatient I just ordered a set of ATR's in a 235 with some nice offset 7" rim so once they are on I'll be able to see how close they get

as to lift, there are ways to do it for not a lot of money, stay tuned I'll be exploring all the options

i got the Silverstone A/T 117 specials, i have had no trouble with them, you seen some of the places they took me out Janowen. Even with the CIG rear they are showing very little wear. place its my daily driver. $129 a wheel

yeah I never really clicked with this one, been wanting to be rid of it for ages, dunno why

about all thats left is front locker, rear bar, sliders MU canvas ute top and some little bits and pieces
