planning on replacing the fuel filter on my sierra, would the correct process be to start the car, pull the fuel pump fuse till shes stalls out to release pressure, remove old filter, replace with new one, then try to turn it over a few times to build the pressure back up in the lines till it evenually fires.

only reason I ask is I have never replaced one on a carby engine before only EFI, so just wanted to make sure there wasnt anything different that needed doing, etc. or if ya got any tips to make it easier.
cheers

Hey mate just undo the hose clamps and change the filter.
Put the new filter in then crank and start.

Job done!

Enjoy

if it is carby it should have a mechanical fuel pump.

i just parked mine, undid the screws, pulled the lines off, plugged lines on new filter, screwed it back into place... didnt bother with all that extra stuff. just release pressure by undoing the fuel cap then putting itback on before you start.

thought about doing mine on the jim but asked at suzistore and he said it was inside the fuel tank and a new filter costs about $490.
