I have lost fluid in the last few days and after having a look today, noticed it leaking around the bottom of the water pump where it bolts to the block. Does this mean dead pump or just a blown gasket? Easy job or PITA? I have to change an inlet manifold gasket and do my carby gaskets in the near future, so easier to wait and do it all at once? Advice please! |

What engine? Leak from pump usually means dead pump. If it's a G series motor then you need to remove timing belt. All the info you need is in the download section. |

Motor is a G13. Water looks to be leaking around the bottom of the pump. |

youll probably find its coming from teh drain hole in the pump once you get teh pulley off, meaning the pump is stuffed |

I had the same thing last week... A new pump was only $50 (and I didn't really shop around). The timing belt does need to come off but still its not a massive job... |

Yeah The timing belt was easy, I did only about a week ago! If only i'd known! Oh well will just have to keep topping it up til I have my gaskets as I need to do both manifolds (exhaust needs to be changed over as it's cracked) as well as both carby mount gaskets. Some eBay shopping followed by a day under the bonnet. Awesome, it's just started getting really cold down here! |
