Sure that's not 235/75/15? in any case, that's a bit wide for a 5.5" rim, but bearable. Steve |

i think 235/75s is a the biggest you can get away with on a stocko rim. however. they are too big to be "legal" on a sierra. |

so if a bigger rim is fitted a bigger tire will fit, but still not legal I take it..so everyone driving around with 50mm lift and big wheels and tires aint supposed to.. |

They are stock NT sierra rims. The biggest size you can safely fit to standard rims is a 235/75 15. 30's are a very tight fit. And no tyre larger than a 215/70 is legal in QLD. Not sure about the other states and terrys |

255 wide on a 5.5 rim is way too much! |

lol....I havent had any problems whatsoever....I dunno if they are legal or not but they dont look out of place and they dont hang out of the standard guards. |

Its got more to do with how well the bead seats and less to do with "how it looks". 255 on a 5.5" rim is just silly. It should be on a 6.5" minimum! 7 would be better. Hell you could even fit them to 8's...... The tyre shop that fitted those for you should be shut down, and all the employees sent to jail to be the soap fetchers. |

The car had them on when I bought it and I dont really have the money at the moment to buy new ones. I havent had any probs with the tyres and I've had the car since just before xmas. I also have a set of rims with 205/70/r15's on them but they are pretty old so I havent bothered with them. If you want to stick to a standard tyre 205 70 look at maxxis 771 $600 four tyres fitted and wheel alignment from Bob Jane they are a AT and work well sand gravel etc Not really for mudplugging but that didnt stop me trying |

really i think a 225 or 215 75 is ideal for the 5.5" rim... but given you can get new steel rims for $60ea (speedy desert rat) and gain more offset at the same time, why wouldnt you upgrade the rims while doing the tyres? its not a huge cost and is well worth it. |

From these replies I'm guessing 235/85/16 won't fit on a 4.5 inch rim. |

235/85 16 is a 31.7" tyre and requires a 6-7" rim. You could queeze it onto a 5.5, but its not a good idea. 4.5" is not gonna happen. |
