i would go 1 switch and 1 relay if a light blows the others will still work its the same set up as the head lights and you can blow one bulb and still have the other.

you dont need to negative switch the relay. you can run them all off 1 relay and yes just run the neg. to the chassis. here is ha quick diagram.

i have 4 50 or 55w under my hilux but would soon like to go 6 and put 2 in the middle.Just wondering how much is too much off the relay before it becomes a problem?i think its just a 30amp relay.

also plan on throwing 4 under my zuk shortly, they are definately a good thing out night driving

Hey Lewis, make sure you put a fuse between power and the relay as well as between the lights and the relay...

You won't need any more than four rock lights.... You can use the other two as extra reverse lights.

Post subject:  Re: rock lights

Even four X 50W lights is 16.6Amps....... plus headlights, parkers and taillights you are drawing over 30A..... Then there is ignition and trying to charge the battery...
Don't be surprised if you get a flat battery after long night runs....
A 110A EF falcon alt upgrade is recommended.

they are just a round plug with two screw holes on each side. the two prongs of the light pushes into the plug, while the prongs get clamped in by a spring

i was waiting till someone said something like this.

alternative solution is use LED's as they use bugger all power and are bright enough for rock lights. Ask Bruce where he got his as im pretty sure i saw some on casper a while ago. Ebay has a good selection.
