Does anyone have any clear cut ways of telling if the front axle is bent? The swivel hubs arent leaking or weeping but when i look at the passenger side wheel it looks to me like the bottom sits in a tad further? There is also more wear on the outside edge of the tyre, however the tyres are quite old and down to about 10% and will be needing a new set soon. Should also mention it drives fine. But if it was bent would there anything noticable when driving? |

wheel alignment will tell you if your camber is out |

They don't normally bend in at the bottom - normally it's the other way. Maybe you have shot kingpin bearings or something? Steve. |

Just jump it a bit in the dunes. That'll straighten it up |

anyway of telling if its the kingpins without gettin an alignment done?? I dont have the time to take into get an alignment mob as I'm so flat out with work, start early finish late plus I'm planning on getting one in a couple of months once I put the lift in, let it settle then get some new tyres |

any strange sounds??? collapsed wheel bearing would do that too - but you'll find you chew out the brakes pretty fast too. as for a way to check if its out of camber, a real basic test is get a mate on the other side of the car, and between the 2 of you, measure point to point around your rims (from the inside). you should get the same measurement all the way around (near enough). |
