Hi All

I have recently bought a 97 Sierra and am hoping to put in a suspension kit once I get the money together. I have searched through the forum and have found a lot of advice indicating that the Ebay lift kit by Ultima is the way to go, and I cannot find this kit on Ebay anymore. So my question is, is there anywhere else that I can buy the kit from?

I have found this: SJ80 40mm Lift Kit which seems to be the same thing as the Ultima kit. Has anyone got one of these fitted or any opinions on it? I have never heard of the company before.

Lifting coilers is pretty fraught. 40mm should be OK though. That kit is pretty cheap, and if your car still has stock shocks, they're going to be pretty stuffed by now, so that kit is probably money well spent.

They aren't too bad for an off-the-shelf kit, had one in my coiler for a few
months... then I started modifying the suspension a bit and making work
a lil better.

hey mate, just put this kit through my car, rear is a lil higher than the front but otherwise its a pretty good kit. depending on what size rubber you go, you should consider body lift next, thats what im going to do

oh btw in that pic i had just taken it off the hoist, it did settle down a bit more in the rear after i took it for a run.

I'll already got the body lift, played with the suspension a lil, ended up
5" over standard in the rear and 4ish" in the front and flexes brilliantly.

yeah im definately having to go for a body lift. just put 30's on it and it flexes well but its hitting the guards and its going to tear my flares off so i godda be patient. where'd you get your body lift from and guessing you had to go extended brake lines?

I just bought the Just Cruzin kit from here. Yeah, I got all my brake lines
extended 100mm

Thanks for the responses guys, appreciate the information. Will definitely be looking at getting the kit as soon as possible.
How is the gearing going with the 30's on the car? Is it bearable or requiring a WT transfer and appropriate gearing?

It's bearable on road, but it desperately needs lower ratio for low range, you
really have no control over the car while wheeling, you can't take it slow.
I picked up a WT transfer the other week and will be looking at getting
the 4.9 gears.

well i've recently rebuilt my engine and new clutch so its still alright on the road but its not quite as quick as it use to be. if your engine was a bit tired i think you would see a bigger difference. as for off road well i've only had a 10 min play since i put the lift in and yeah low range is not exactly low.
