What would you say to something like that
I'd be using it for bar work on the Zook and other things..

I'm just not sure what to buy, not sure how much tonne pressure rating is enough for what i need to do, etc

But i'm pretty certain 2" pipe is what i'd be using.. Have loads stacked in the shed

If you dislike this, could you suggest something else decent that won't burn a hole in my wallet lol

There is nothing decent that won't burn a hole in your pocket.

My speedworks bender was over $2k. And its entry level as far as decent benders go.

JD squared is pretty good, but I have heard they had a few issues with dies. Not sure tho.

Bailieght industries do them also.

If you want a really good result you need to spend some money IMO.

i have a bender like that and it's not the best. It does crease the metal when bending but i'v heard that if you use good quality dies then you can get a good result. It also comes down to the quality of steel you use to bend.

I have a speedwerx bender and whilst it works and makes nice smooth bends, I don't like it much - it's very limiting as to adjacent bends and total bend angle. I would have preferred a JD2. (I bought my speedwerx years ago)

You will always end up with a messy result with a press bender. IMHO they are not up to automotive work.

Agreed.

I'm trading up for a hydro elec bender soon. If I had the space I'd hit the auctions looking for a mandrel bender, but that would be the only thing I'd fit in the shed :roll:

I used a mate's JD2 bender to do my exo and it worked a treat, tight bends and no crush (expensive though). It's set up on a bench with an electric hydraulic pack and footpedal control.

i have a mate that makes all sorts of bar work with a bender similar to this but with better quality dies and it works a treat still dents the out side on 90deg but is barely noticeable

that's not "working a treat" that's damaging the tube. Might be fine for sliders or a front bar but I wouldn't recommend it for a cage you needed to trust. Press benders aren't intended for that kind of work.

when i say dent it is as small a if you hit it with a hammer and this bender has been used for at least 5 exo's that have all had hard roll overs and they have held up fine. don't know alot about benders but every one i know says it your dies not the bender its self.

Worked with the same bender making front and rear bars for cruiser and quad bikes up north worked great. But as ppl have said above they do leave a mark from the bending. Still works great for bar work and similar..

If thats what your are going to use it for I'd say go for it!!!!
