Well. As stated, I fired up my zook, aka. The Blue Bandit, after it not being turned over for a good while (about 2 months or so), after replacing a stuffed alternator, the battery had died and i jumped it with dad's jackaroo. She kicked into life (go the mighty zook roar) but to my dismay puffs of white then blue smoke began bellowing out the rear end. :x I still have to drop and replace oils, and coolant etc. I suspect a gasket has gone.. any clue as to whch one it may be? I'm hoping it's a top end. I backed it out the driveway to the gutter and put a bit of strain on the engine and the smoke thickened.. Let me know what the prognosis may be..

Cheer fellas.

could be a few things, could be rings, valve stem seals, or head gasket, it could come good after an oil change and a good drive or the head may have to come off to find the problem.

It's definately the flux capicitor gasket.

Oil may have seeped into youre cylinders over time and its blowing that out. What i would prob recommend doing, especially since its a dime a dozen zook motor, is remove spark plugs (prob too late now if the cylinders were chockers), crank over engine until it doesnt puff crap out anymore. Then put spark plugs in and run it for a while and see if it burns off the smoke.

Yeah, The white smoke isn't an issue as long as it only did that for a bit when you first started it up - the engine is just burning off condensation thats formed through it and the exhaust and you're seeing the steam.

The blue smoke is oil.

X 2

I was just thinking maybe your seals/gaskets have shrunk a bit or dried out from not having oil on them for a while, and its just burning of the oil till your seals and gaskets expand again... i would leave it for a couple of weeks and see how it goes... keep an eye on your oil level to...

Cheers for the replies fellas. The Bandit isn't going anywhere fast as she's still getting worked on to be roadworthiable and insurable. :L I haven't changed the oil since I bought her 4 and a half months ago, but she's just been in the shed being pampered whenever I get the chance to work on her. B) The main reason I fired her up after so long was to warm the engine, so I could drop and refill oils. Then SMOKE.

Will try everything advised. ;)

Rings etc can stick when left not running for a while. When she is ready to hit the road give her a hard run and if you can find some subaru upper engine cleaner and give it a gut full!! Hopefully that will clear it up!
