hey all l have just bout a sierra, front and rear diffs have been fitted with lock rights. the rear diffs makes noises etc which can be expected. lt also has a problem of changin lanes by itself and leaping to the right when u grab next gear. is this because of diff or l have to much play in the steering box.Thanx

check your tire pressures are even and silly as it sounds they both measure the same circumference, lockrights can somewhat wind up and release like that and send you across the road

I might sounds like a tool but if your new to sierras and 4wd in general pull the lockright out and leave it on the shelf for a while till you get used to how the car handle on and off road

I have a lockrite in the rear of my Vit and yes if your tyres are not the same size the lockrite will engage disengage when you change gears.. It still will have a slight movement / wiggle in the rear even when the tyres are the same size but not enough to make the zook change lanes.

I'll aggree with Royce on this one, if you can go back to a normal open centre for a while and then put the lockers back in after your used to it, that would be a good idea.

A higher pressure can alleviate some of the problems associated with your locker while driving on road , as royce said your tyres must be exactly matched for the locker to work correctly , they might be the same size in specs but if one is worn it will cause the problem you are having. Also they need to be the same tread pattern as well. When you inflate the tyre a little more it reduces the ammount of drag when cornering. My rear locker can sometimes slip one tooth even 50 metres from the last corner I turned so try pumping up your tyres to thr recomended max pressure and see if that improves the torque steer , Cheers Paul

yer l went to servo and found out rear tyre was down to 12 pound, helped a fair bit and also front wheel bearings are loose
