I have had a '85 1.3L NT LWB for a short while now, finally got it registered last Thursday and drove it home from work tonite. 1st time i have drove the thing.

mmmmm........few issues already. Noises from the back, most likely wheel bearings....no biggy.

Power, or lack there of. Its was running 6.00x16 bartreads which are only marginaly bigger than the std 205/70-15's. Was really struggling to hold a guessed 100, around 90-95 on the speedo. One thing i did notice, desreguarding actual road speed, 3100rpm gave an indicated 98-100 on the speedo which i don't think is right. Timing set at 10'BTDC with hose disconnected from dissy, correct?

Stalling when stopping/idleing. Running rich at idle, eye wateringly rich. Cop who pulled me over for a breath test even commented on it
Can wind idle screw right in and car will still run, out 1 1/2 turns and stalls. All hoses connected. Choke is definaly off and was running sweet at work before i left. Has been sitting for a while and i did put fuel in it on the way home (95) . Water in the fuel maybe????

Changed over the wheels at home, locked the hubs in and nothing..... :? Pulled the offending hub apart and the spring was broken in three peices 8O . Is this common? Suzuki genuine part?

Cheers
Rick

Mate welcome to the world of second hand cars, it might take a few weeks to sort out the little drama's but will be worth it in the end. Sounds like another carbie might be a good start.

depends. i run 215/75R15's with stock gearing and mine says almost 3500rpm @ 100km/h, on the rare occasion the old girl gets that high...

My LWb says 3500ish at 100kph, but at that speed, GPS says 92kph, 8% out, on 215s

my thing had problems when it was carbied rick, turns out was due to hoses being swapped around etc and the idle solenoid plug etc.

3100 seems a bit low in the rev range to me but i duno.NOt many will hold 100 stock easily from my experience anyway. Its a zook
I think some 2nd hand sierra or vit hubs should do the job,ill see if my mate has a set lying around.

Fixed the running rich problem Sunday. Put a kit through the carb and its now running pretty sweet, just need to have a fiddle and get the choke right. Carb was full of gunk :D Got a second filter to fit between the pump and carb.

Got some rear WB kits and a swivel hub kit too me outta the missus's hair on the weekend and started machining up some new pins for another set of shackles yesterday morning at work. It has 2" ext shackles atm, and i want to make a set at stock, or close too, length. May get some bone shaped side plates lazer cut, around $7-8ea.

Got a Recaro drivers seat to make a base for and fit as well on the weekend, time permitting. Make new front mounts for the rear seat while i'm at it.

Didn't happen to find a steer box Matt? A std airbox while your at it, mine is missing one of the lid retaining clips :)
