I got it again...
At around 60k's, the steering wheel and in fact the whole care vibrate uncontrollably until I slow down enough or I turn a corner that pulls it out.
When I first had this happen, a bit of searching found that the urethane bushes in the adjustable pan hard rod were flogged out. Not surprising with what I have put the car through. I currently have an original pan hard rod in and the bushes look OK. The wobble is not as bad as before but still noticeable.
I am running a steering damper. I am also on a completely different front axle to the first situation.
Any clues?

someone mentioned not long ago that suzuki now make new king pin or shim kits or something like that. i think it was steknig, supposed to clear it up. i will be buying some soon i reckon and have a go at fitting them myself.
but yes it is very annoying, mine was at 70km but now at 60km with the 215's but i think its still really 70 just the speedo is out.

Sell it & buy a car that hasn't been put into a ditch at speed.
otherwise you wasting you time....

Please let me know where you get them from and what your results are.
I am not sure I actually follow how shimming the king pins would help because as far as i can see the only place to shim is between the top plate and the housing (and the bottom end of course), sandwiched by the four bolts. This would in fact increase the gap, not reduce it creating more movement.
Is there another place to shim?

The wobble has occurred with 2 other completely different front axle assemblies. How would ditch damage affect this?

Can't be the diff's then, if you've had 2 different one's on there..
Did you run the same wheel's?? try balancing them.
Does it start when you put your foot on the brake?? front rotor's could need a machine.
Do you have a damper fitted?? That may help
Is your chassis straight? because if that is out, the rest won't fix it..

Matty did some measurements and could not see any signs of chassis bend.
Yes, I am running a damper.
I had also considered wheel balance. The wheels have been moved around though, so that didn't make a lot of sense. I do however intend to get the wheels balanced just to rule that out.
I will also be going back to the original 'post crash' axle assembly and will look at all other options, get a wheel alignment, and all other suggestions.

Post crash?? non braced you mean??
Tell us how that goes, no point adjusting king pin's if you have other issues that WILL cause problem's as well.

Post Crash - a second hand unit that was braced, quite poorly as it turns out. This is being sorted by Peter. It leaks around the reinforcing and the ball seal
I will be reinstalling the complete original swivel hub inc ABS assembly. They are in perfect condition having only done about 2,000 k's.
It will have a brand new set of 26 spline trialjimny maraging 350 axles with cromolly CV's and ARB air locker. Probably all new seal and bearing kit.

Well, I solved it today (mostly). The chassis end bolt of the front pan hard rod had worked loose. I checked the axle end but not the chassis end. Still minor vibrations but nothing like it was.
I think the hole is a bit flogged out, so it might pay to build a new mount with tighter tolerances and perhaps weld in the nut and perhaps chuck in a bit of locktite.
I also got the wheels rebalanced which i think helped reduce some of the vibe.

I think the aggressive lugs of Federal Couragias add to starting the wobble.
Mine started wobbling when I fitted the alloys and Federals. There are pages in my build thread somewhere that show what I have done to address the wobble.
Each time I did something it would be good for a couple of weeks and then return.
I have installed a pivet hub seal kit which included new KP bearings, then shimmed the king pin bearings when the wobble returned.
Next was back-off and retighten all bolts.
Next was a new dampener.
Then replace shock bushes and panhard bushes.
I'm starting to get a slight shimmy again but need new rear shocks ASAP so hopefully that will settle things again.
