Hi all I have done SPOA on my sierra and now I am getting bad vibs on my rear shaft. I know from what I see that the uni angle on the diff end is straight and angled more on the transfer end. When I back off the pedel while driving I hear a clunking sound from the transfer, I know its not the transfer as the problem because I changed the box and it still makes a sound when I back off the accelerator. Any Ideas? I have a set of double cardan hilux shafts thanks to "Pubic". Has anyone done a hilux drive shaft conversion on a sierra before? |

1) you're getting spring wrap - do a search here and on outerlimits for 'trac bar'. 2) yes - i run hilux double cardans front and rear - the shafts are custom made (not cheap) but theyre perfectly balanced and have TONS of spline. You can take a hilux d/c and bolt it to a sierra, the pattern is ever so slightly out though and the holes need to be elongated, or an adapter plate made. |

You can buy new flanges to suit your hilux tail shaft from lowrange or locktup. |

there is your problem right there. why is it when people do a spoa they always point the pinion to the t/case?....it is not required. if spring perches were set up level to the old ones you would not be having this problem and would not need toyota shafts. |

for me there was too much angle on the driveshaft and when the rear in particular was in full droop we were afraid the unis would be maxed out. |

unless you are spoa with lifted springs the unis wont vibrate due to angle you can bind em spua as well but its unlikely to ever happen unless you are bellied on something |

I know te general consensus is to leave pinion angles as stock, however both of my pumpkins are rotated towards the Tcase, and I don't experience any extra vibration... Am I just lucky? |
