i have no idea how or where to even start looking for the reason my tacho isn't working is there anyone with a n/t swb that could help with my little dilemma

Check that the wire has not come off the coil. I am sure it gets it power from there?

Ignition coil mate.... Bolted to the firewall right behind the motor

Sadly, if you do not know what the coil is, take it to an auto electrician.

This will be a far easier solution.

Bruce, the pic shows a coil that needs an external resistor, not for a suzi, 1.3l onwards.

i new that coil i just wasn't aware that the tacho was supposed to be attached to it

The tacho knows the revs by how many times the coil pulses.

Get a manual with a decent wiring diagram and it'll help you out with all these niggly little electrical issues...

I just grabbed the first coil that i seen on the web and posted it. Just to show him what it was :-)
