G'day
Im about to put in a rear airlocker and was just wondering how strong the standed axles are and if it would be worth while to put some of these in while i have the diff apart?
I am only running 30's and don't plan on going bigger but i will be getting transfer gears, front locker and will be towing a trailer so i will have to give it some curry on the harder tracks to get through
Also can them axles be used on the later vits with no bolt holes in the middle?
Cheers Joe

I have rear locker, crawler gears, 30" tyres and tow a trailer with the standard axles with no problems.

ive only heard of 1 vit axle breaking before
regarding fitting, you need to change to teh early drums, or benT's disc setup
i'd leave it and do it if they break

ive broke one and twisted the splines on 2 others
the one i broke was my fault , i droped the clutch in anger and it riped the spline to bits
the other two were just normal driving
