i was sliding around on some mud/grass and heard a bang, then lost drive to the front wheels. when the hubs are locked in and the vehicle is moving its very rough. does anyone have any idea what it could be?

could be a number of things... CV joint, front diff, transfercase.

does it do it in 4wd WITHOUT the hubs locked or only when the hubs are locked?

i havent tried it in 4wd without hubs, but it does grind when in 2wd with the hubs locked

mate have you had a crawl under the car? look at your front diff may have a crach/hole/no oil
