so it been tempting me for a while, so it now is getting looked at, so here goes. My plan is to take a WT sierra (1993) rear diff and 3rd member housing, and put it into a vitara front anvil housing and replace the ring and pinion of that of a sierra, off the vitara. On the way, making up a bracket to weld onto the sierra 3rd member to mount to a calmini 3rd member diff housing mount. The allows for a cheaper locker to be installed in the front, and cheaper parts further down the track. But i have a few questions for the guru's firstly is it possible? can the ring and pinion be taken from a vitara and put on a sierra? Can the sierra 3rd member be welded to? if worse comes to worse, can a sierra diff be placed inside a vitara 3rd member? Thats all i can think of at the moment. also, if someone has a 26 spline short shaft that they are happy to sell, PM me cheers. will find out if it fits into a anvil housing soon enough. |
