Post subject:  front wheel seals replacement

whent wheelin the other day with my bro , dad and uncle :D
when i got home noticed a leak coming from my front right hub right where it joins the diff :(
i think its the seals im no to flash with naming the parts
i'm fairly good mechanicly and think i can do it myself BUT just incase is there anything i should know or any tips
all feedback will be appreciated

You axle seal's leaking into the swivel hub, you'll need swivel hub kit..

there a bit of a bitch to do. there might be a trick to it but for me putting the rubber seal on, holding it there while aligning the felt seal and the two metal retainers was quite painful.

gettin the kit shouldnt be a prop
me and my old man will be workin on it as we'v never done one before
if all else fails we'l get someon in but untill then
we'l give it a shot and put pics up later

1Hr 25 per side is my best effort. That includes cleaning parts, packing bearings by hand, and repacking CV joint. Also sealing all surfaces together with gasket goo :D

Felts are easy once you get the knack :wink:

i did that, then i hit my head on the edge the flare, then i swore and eventually after that process was repeated quite a few times it was done :lol:

There is a good wright up in here on doing them..

Not to hard to do, if you can do a wheel bearing you should be able to do that..

taking it apart really isn't a problem, getting stuff together is a lot harder to get right ;) but you should be fine with this one, its not too difficult just fiddely

I don't know how many times i've done this, but i can pull it apart and get it back together, but the disk brake now hits the caliper holder.... me the retard :lol:


also, it takes me 30mins to pack and finish front wheel bearings 8)

ebay, bout $80. more for more seals and stuff
