Post subject:  jimny death shake

hay all went out on a night run havent been on one for a bit forgot how fun thay are. Well all was good till i got to the hill :roll: started going up it was a bit harder than i was thinking so i gave it a bit more right foot dident see the big rock and BANG the frunt left hit it all was good but my sports steering wheel was upside down ? WTF i was thinking. so it was time to head off all was good till i hit the black stuff i had just slowed down to take a turn and the steering wheel started to shake and it took all i had to hold on to it and pull over off the road (now im not piss week) I jump out have a look all seems fine so jump back in and off i go get to the next bend slow down same shit hapends. I stop think OMG this jimny is trying to kill me was a long drive home but i got home and it dident happen agen

Probaly some mud inside the rims that unbalanced it. Mine gets the shakes bad at about 70 kmh when the wheels need balancing, scary shit

If the steering wheel isnt where its supposed to be youve bent something, likely the steering arm between the 2 wheels

well i bent somthing its the rod that go's from the diff to the chasis what is that one called and anyone no where i can find one im down geelong (vic) and cant find one

sounds like the panhard rod is bent, it's the one that isn't attached to the steering!

ok i got a new panhard bar today from tough dog looks to be the goods

looks ezy to put in just 2 bolts but is there anything i should know befor i give it a go????

Keep an eye on the locking nut, thay have a coarse thread & like to come undone..

if it's adjustable, adjust it so it's the same length as the original one from hole to hole before you fit it.
