Thinking of converting my tray into a tipper. Can anyone tell me what the wire stays do that go from the seatbelts and which are then anchored onto the back of the tray? Do they help keep the tray steady or do they help stop the cab from flying off? thanks |

they are to stop you pulling the B pillar over from teh force of the seatbelts in a crash |

so removing them would be a no no? and there would be no other way to anchor in some other place? |

I am sure there are other ways to do it like roll cages and stuff but your better off with an engineer than a forum for that answer |

talk to a certified engineer who can sign it off. but all it is for is for transferring the load you can quite easily move the anchor point to another strong point on the chassis etc. |

instead of bolts connecting the wire mounts just use load rated pins or bolts with pins in them and remove when using the tipper. I have 2" body lift and mine no longer reach anyway. Suzukis are held together by screws and paper thin panels i hardly think there half star saftey rating warrants to much concern about seatbelt mounts. |
