A locker would be more beneficial in the rear more than in the front

A lockright will not affect steering when the freewheel hubs are unlocked, but off-road you may have difficulties - get some gym membership and build your muscles!

or better yet don't get a gym membership and build your own muscles from wheeling :D

i would go the front anyday.

From the sierras I have seen I would say f&r or none
Sierras with rear lockers only are a pita the rear tries to over take the front all the time better off with none

Usual answer from me = weld rear, locker front.

i vote rear. there was a bit write up in one of the 4wd action mags a while back and i think that they said rear ofered more benifits. but i think you should keep saving and get air lockers :D

Rear. I've got a Lockrite front and rear. Rear just works and you don't notice it - I spend most of my time in 2WD Low now, only locking the hubs in if I get stuck. Having front only would be a PITA because it does make steering heavy, so you'd be wanting to drive with only one front hub locked in most of the time anyway to keep steering light. That's fine when you have a locked rear giving you 3 locked wheels ... not so good if you've got open rear giving you one locked and two open.

ive never ran a locked front only but have ran locked rear in my last 2 zuks for 4 years now and now twin locked for one week and one trip.
While the twins now have changed it a heap i still think rear first is a better step.its amazing what it drove before and it could be steered properly lol.

my hilux also is twin locked with arb's but is wired so front wont work without rear so i cant comment on that even

I'd go the front first.

Front locker will help pull you up and over obstacles, rocks and ledges. A rear locker will drive your front wheels into the obstacle and try to flip the car backwards.

My last zook was front locked only and it was unstoppable. Current zook is dual airlocked, but wired so I can run front locker only, which gets me over 90% of the things I drive.

As long as you're gentle on the throttle and dont jam the front wheels up you shouldnt have an issue with busting cv's.

Power steering would be a benefit however.
