Does anyone run an aftermarket fuel regulator with the G16B in a Sierra? I'm running a Bosch 044 pump and was wondering if a new regulator is required to handle the higher pressure from the pump. Or is the standard one fine to use?

Cheers,
Jimmy

Why not use a pump that doesn't produce so much flow?

AFAIK suzuki use the same pump in all vitaras - even the 140Kw XL-7, so it's a case where 4 times the stock vitara flow might not be a great thing.

It is possible the stock reg won't flow enough.... but it's also possible the stock return line won't flow enough either.

Put a gauge on the system pre and post regulator to troubleshoot it - cheaper than a quality regulator.

I have a cheap ($100) regulator on piggles and it's a pain - inconsistent, and I've been unable to drop pressure low enough for my 660. I have cut the spring down and have since drilled a 1mm bypass hole in the reg to give me more control at low pressure.
