i have just ordered an 80mm lift for my jimny, my plan is to run 31s.
with the lift the tires will fit but they will rub when its flexed, whats the best way to solve that, body lift or huge guard chop.

also is it hard to do a 2 inch body lift on a jimny

If you have air bag's it's a no go zone..

What spring lift did order??

Steve you could probably answer this question. Are the Airbay sensors G force activated or impact activated. You can legally fit body lift to vehicles fitted with G force activated airbags as they aren't effected. The new hilux has this setup and quite a few are fitted with BL's

i ordered 80mm tough dog, because i can get it cheap.
thinkin about coil spacers and body lift if needed

I didn't have much space left with 235s on mine, with 50mm spacers and 2" spring lift. I would think the tough dog kit (given it's all spring) will be a no chancer with 31s.

pretty sure lordviper has 31's on his jimny, talk to him. but yes you will need to trim the guards.

Impact I think, will look into it, but 99.9% sure impact..

Both Mr Just, has 2 impact sensor's behind the front bumper & a g force sensor IN the module..

i only got 30s. they scrap a fair bit and required alot of trimming to make them fit with the 80mm lift. need to body lift a bit if you want them i reckon.

Hmmm. We had a jimny come into work last week and we fitted 33s to it with only a minor bit of trimming to the back of the front guard.

I think it had a Tough Dog lift and possibly a BL too.

put 31s on my jimny would be my ideal set up, but i got airbags in mine so it would be more tricky for me... but if you wont its way easier to you...

also I never knew why suzuki decided to minimize the wheel arch to the bare minimum possible, not only making the car look ugly but difficult to fit big rubber (maybe the reason why ppl still go to sierras)... but under the flare there is heaps of room, so you just need to chop all that extra of the flares to get more room

jimnys are soon to be the new sierra anyway... theyre far easier to find and more and more parts are becomming available.

go nuts i reckon - but consult an engineer and your transport authority before doing ANYTHING - you might just get it done and made legal.

dude, really? thats a terrible attitude... if one of your mods leads to a catastrophic failure that sees someone die you have no insurance and go to jail for manslaughter... if its engineered, first off its less likely something like that will happen, but if it does you're fully covered.

aside from the killing people part its still also a safety issue for you and your passengers.

If its a trailer rig then fine, its not going to see significant speed but if you're driving it on the road for gods sake get an engineer to look over it!

yea, every thing is being fittied buy perth 4x4 so it should all be safe.
even tho in wa that sort of lift and tire upgrade is illegal, it will be fitted by professionals

You do realise that you can only legally go 2'' on your suspension without and engeneers certificate. If you are going 4'' and going to try run 31's I'm pretty sure soon after you do it police are going to pull you over and sticker you. Remember that your wheels can't exceed your wheel arch too, you you're gunna have to get that shitty garden rubber too

but as alien said, dont kill anyone and maybe get a trailor, with tyres that big ya gonna have to get gearing and it will probably be shocking on the road anyway.

suspension lift only, big (neat) gaurd chop, 30-31's, good gearing (1L transfer minimum) and then you need to get a drivers licence so you can actually drive it.

Perth4x4 work closely with an automotive engineer who cert's their builds. Talk to them about getting it engineered - it wont be expensive if its all bolt on, other than all the tests the DoT make you do.

Also, are you sure Perth4x4 are the best guys to do the job? Theres better suzuki specialists around perth that would be my preferred option over Perth$x$ (is 4 and $ on the keyboard a coincidence?)

My advice would be to keep the build small....

Like a 2" suspension and 235/75/15 depending on what you can get away with gearing wise.

I my experience its far better to keep it simple start small and learn to wheel it you will be surprised where a well driven mildly modified vehicle will take you.

PS: Don't forget a rear air locker far better than miles of lift.
