Post subject:  Longest off the shelf rear leafs

Well I think my old leaf packs in the sierra have just about had it. Just wondering if anyone knows who has the longest off the shelf rear leaf (mains) for roughly a 2inch lifted pack.

EFS?

Cheers Dan

Kings are longer also. But stiff.

Ome are longer. Alot of people rate them on here.

You dont want the longest, as some i have seen fold the shackle onto the chassis. Not good, unless you want to move the hanger.

I run corolla's :D

I run kings and think they are fantastic, great flex :D

My understanding is EFS are the longest...Highway star and Tanshi both run these if I remember correctly and they run them with one leaf removed (dont quote me on this :P)

Yes I pulled the OME medium rears out my Sierra and replaced them with EFS light 2" rears (one leaf removed). The EFS were about 15mm (from memory) longer than the OME which are longer than stock to start with. The EFS are notably stiffer and taller. The OME's moved the rear diff back, the EFS don't appear to. The OME's turned into spaghetti everytime I put my foot down, the EFS don't.

Cool this is the kinda tech im looking for. So overall how many leafs are you running in the pack now? Are they the EFS 50mm or 65mm comfort springs?

3 curved leaves, 1 load leaf. They had 4 curved leaves and 1 load leaf when I bought them. Was the shortest curved one I removed. They are 50mm lifted "light duty" with the comfort "slip pad things". Although they are supposed to be 50mm lifted, they gave more lift when I first put them in. They would probably be down to 50mm lifted now if I took the longer shackles out. Had them in about 6 months.
Although I haven't had any axle wrap issues since putting these in, Tanshi's father axle wrapped the same springs in his; though he took the load leaf out, not the curved leaf. He is running a G13BB auto with 4.1 transfer gears, compared to my G16 manual with 4.9 gears (we mistakenly thouht the auto would be nice on springs 8O ).

EFS all the way, also just to let u kno, there are 2 types of EFS 50mm lifted leaves, they use the same P/No but a different abreviation on the end, the constant 1's which give u 50mm lift and handle more weight and the comfort 1's give u 65mm of lift but less load carrying, i have spoken to EFS and confirmed all this as i had a arguement with the suspension shop in regards to this, they told me that 65mm lifted leaves didnt exist in the EFS range, they were wrong lmao!!! ill let u know how they go in the front of mine with the RUF when i put them in this weekend and ill post up photos of my rig in my build thread

i run 2" EFS rears alround and love them apart from last weekend when i tried to drive up a rock and bent the spring and inverted my shackels

I just picked up a new sponsor at Opposite Lock and they are making me new springs at whatever length I want :D :D :D

K bringing some descent tech measured from center to center across the main rear leaf we have:

OME rears 40mm lift: 1007mm

EFS rears 65mm comfort: 1037mm

Anyone else want to add?

Ummm could you include where they put the axle Dan? Think I'm goin to need to do something with springs now that "The Springs" bent my rear main leaf.

These are on the vehicle and not new. This measurement is taken along the curve of the main so it is the total length of the main (will be the same loaded or unloaded). Got any springs to add?

None that I know the brand of. Besides, I don't own any leaf sprung zooks anymore

That would be sweet and also a measurement from the center of the fixed hanger side along the main to the center bolt would be nice to know.

i got calmini 5" they are super long, you cant use them with standard shackles as they flex backward and sit on the chassis rail 8O
iam planning to replace the top leaf on my efs with the top from the calmini laefpack to gain a bit more flex with my 3/4 elliptical.
