when i'm drivin around, my car spits and farts, especially when takin off, does the same on the highway, when it hit a hill just feels like it is miss firing!

i have checked all the leads and they are on!

its a 1.3l carb motor to!

n e ideas?

i'm no tech guru, but anyway

have you tried removing each spark plug and seeing if they are all clogged up with black stuff? My number 4 gets clogged up and runs really rough after a while, depends on the angles you go on.

is your air filter clean? maybe there's dust build up that has gone in to the carby? you could try the old swap leads and backfire trick, or maybe spray carby cleaner everywhere, i love that stuff.

did it happen suddenly one day, or gradually crept in? just thought, maybe you did something while working on the engine or somethin?

accelorator pump in the carby or coil lead
is it worse when cold?
what colour are your plug leads? if not black have a real good look anywhere a lead goes within a inch or so of metal for little black arc marks

i started it up last night and i could see arc from the lead to those two nuts on the coil!

Sounds like the coil needs to be replaced.. Its insulation has been compromised. All it takes is a little crack.

ok got this fixed,

well i started my car this morning, warmed it up them took off up the street and it died, there is no ignition lights, radio still works, it will turn over but won't start, and it keeps blowing a fuse everytime i put a new one in.

wat could it be?

what fuse does it blow?

disconnect the negative wires off the coil and see where you get

took them off, put fuse in and yea blown, still no dash lights

now try the positive side

parkers and headlights working properly? or is high beam coming on when low beam should be?

lights a fine, took positive off and dash lights come on but as soon as i went to start it, the fuse blew

so with the positive wires off the coil it doesnt blow the fuse?

leave the wire going to the condensor (little round silver thing) off and try, otherwise could be a dead module

do you have 3 wires in total going to the coil positive?

nah with the wires off, the dash light come on but when i kicked it over it blow,

there is only 2 wires to each pos and neg

yea a soon as i hit the key to start it blows,

then the dash lights go? interesting cause I dont think the start and ign circuits have anything to do with each other

do you have an immobiliser installed. a bit of water got in mine, caused a short and blew the coil fuse every time i tried to start it. made some cool smoke and burning electrical smells too.

mmm These days the immobilizer is installed inside the vehicle.. especially on 4x4's to avoid the whole water in the Immobilizer thing.

Unless you manage to flood the cabin?

its an all in one unit so the big siren had to be in the engine bay. and it wasnt actually 4x4ing that got it et, the guy at autoco gave my engine a complementary clean, and saw the thing was muddy so gave it a spray with the high pressure hose , needless to say they paid for the repairs
