Installed new webber. Running fine, havent driven it yet. But there is a coolant hose that goes into the old carby that is pissing cooland everywhere and cant seem to follow where it goes so i can figure out how to tackle this problem.

Can this be connected somewhere in the coolant system instead of the carby, bypassing the carby? or can it just be blacked off?

i know you lose some hoses and some get backed off, pictures not real good but does this help at all?

and i think i mounted mine backwards.....

its would be for your old carby's choke. they run off coolant temperature.
just block it off

There will be 2 coolant lines. One comes off the water pump pipe under the manifold and the other off the back of the manifold. Just take the one off the manifold and put the other in its place. Its that easy.

yeah. that was more original plan. will have a go once the engine is cooled. Much power gain from those running webber carbies? was just cheaper than a rebuild so i thought id upgrade.

yes on road its brilliant, offroad it does starve alot easier on angles and bumpy climbs but i havent had too much trouble as im not EXTREME, more revs keeps it alive

Yes, the bowl set up I think is the major disadvantage

These work well if set up correctly and the fuel vent mod is done.


. Not everyone can afford to do EFI. and we are all still waiting for Joeblow to post up what needs to be done to a Vitara carby for it to work on a sierra.


If you dont do alot of water crossings or bog holes you will love it. If you need to run a snorkel then you may have a few issues.

what issues do you run into? i was thinking of doing so in the future, the guy that fitted mine said his made up a few adaptors so you can run it thorugh the std. air box.
also wats involved in the 'fuel vent mod'

i ran a webber for a little while on my 1.6 and except for a very rich idle never had a
problem however there is only one hill in the entire topend.
the only reason i put the sierra carby back on was because i didn't have a decent carby hat for the webber.

planning to modify the vitara airbox to fit the carby, will post up many a pics once its done.

You need to seal up the existing bowl vents with a fuel resistant putty and then install a dreather tube to over the primary throat.

The bit's in the pic's with the lid off are what used to give me grief in street car's year's ago..

That look's to be a good mod, i've done similar on std carb's, but not quite to that extreme, just extended em a lil..

Bung this on, and run ya stock airfilter, and snorkel.

I love my webber, power diff is stunning.

You do need to do more than just bung on the webber for best results.

Extreme angles do suk but.
