hey i own a suzuki vitara 91 and recently got a new clutch installed.... i can drive around in 2wd no problems but until i go onto the local beach i go like 2kms and then the clutch gets really heavy and struggle to get it in gear... sometimes i had to start it in 1st to get off the beach..... wen i get off the beach i adjust the clutch so i can get the clutch in far enough so i can get it in gear.... i took the car back to the mechanic and i dont think he really did anything to the car because i went over the beach after he *fixed it* and same again...... i have also tried in both high and low range but no luck..

i cant think of what can be the problem is... maybe transmition fluid??

i will take it back to the same mechanic and see if he will pull it apart and fix it and if he doesnt fix it this time he gets yelled at etc etc then i will take it somewhere else

anyone know wat the problem could be??? thanks in advance mitch

is it hard to get into gear or hard to get out of gear?

when it wont go into gear ( I am asuming you dont mean high 4 or low 4) is it hard to get into every gear?

sounds like it could be slipping and overheating

nah sorry lol i can change between 2wd 4wd etc etc its just the actual gears 1st 2nd 3rd etc

so if he tried 4wd on a dirt road for 2km, it wouldn't be working so hard so might not have a problem?

ive been told its a heavy duty clutch and before i got the clutch changed i had no problem and i drive exactly the same i dont drive it hard or anything i just cruise along the beach

then it would do it regardless of 2wd or 4wd

I think its the hard going on the sand is working the clutch and upsetting it, probably a few hard take offs on bitumen would give the same effect

or there is no inspection plate on it and its filling with sand
