Hi gang, I'm new to the forum and have just bought a new Jimny a few weeks ago- so far I'm loving the square corners and 1980's no-fuss styling! I've had a hilux and landcruiser before but I like the nimbleness of the Jimny, most of my 4wding being hilly forests which get very hairy, or should I say muddy, when wet. I'd also like to go up into the alpine areas with other fourbies in the future so I need to make a few mods to keep it all survivable. What I'd like to do is purchase a set of 5 extra rims and shod them in MT type tyres, keeping the HT tyres for day to day driving. I don't want to modify the lift or the guards at this stage, just a straight out tyre swap. I've seen 15x6" sunraysias on ebay for $58 each, and wanted to know what the best tyres for these would be without needing any other modifications. Further down the track I'd like to ad a rear air locker. Get a bullbar and a hand winch (?) and get some 4wd lessons so I can keep the zook out of trouble. I also want to carry extra fuel with me, but have read lots of conflicting stories about the safe storage of jerry cans. What's the safest way to do this? Cheers for any help guys- love to hear about anyone's Jimny mods or adventures. Mick |
