just wondering what is the best carby for a 91 wt sierra 1300 , i have a stock carby but cant seem to tune it right i have put a kit through it but it still plays up

when cold its like its running on three cylinders then when it heats up it either revs high or doesnt idle at all

sounds like you need to set the choke and fix your vacuum leaks

i have replaced all the hoses but do not know how to resett choke

hove you checked the secondry throttle body butterfly thingo is sealing/not bent out, If you are leeking air through that you will never get it to idle properly.
other thing is the base gasket can develop vacuum leaking wich make it impossible to get a smooth idle/consistant so replace that.

Joe, you keep saying this but can you please do a write up for the plebs still running carbies showing the best way to hook one up on a Sierra?

trying to....but everyone i work on nowadays is efi...........bloody fuel injection......

Rolla carb is aisin brand just like the sierra's. Difference being that sierra has auto choke and corolla has manual choke. There is nothing wrong with the Sierra carbs if they are rebuilt by someone that knows how to rebuild and set up a carby
