hi guys i did a RUF conversion on my zook a while ago and changed the leaves this weekend to EFS Brand newies, now my shackles sit almost completely flat, the shocks are new the leaves are new and the bushes are fuked, but would bushes comtribute to the shackles not having a angle and laying flat, any help on this and my other drama would be greatly appreciated

no the EFS 1s are longer the the kings, but i dont nderstand if the EFS jobbies are brand new with load leaves how can the sit lower and cause the shackles to lay foward flat

longer shackles wont fix it, i seem 2 think they r 2 soft and long, so ill put them in the rear and try my rear kings in the front

i did a quik paint sketch, red is shackle, black is leaf, wouldnt longer shackles pull the spring more foward????

Post subject:  Re: Ruf Dramas

No, the longer shackle will want to bring the angle down, I am not sure of lengths, but as you increase the shackle length, the angle will increase.

Have a squiz at the link, it will help you when getting longer shackles to determine best angle.

Post subject:  Re: Ruf Dramas

i had the same dramas with my lwb
i could get it to do this just by pushing on the car, or just by getting ball to sit in it.

longer shackles fixed the problem, if you use caster wedges you steering will remain ok.

yeah they are all rear shot though this is on the front of my car, i already have 2 inch ext shackles i have been advised that the spring rate is way to soft so ill try my kings in the front and efs in the rear

mentioned the extended shackles in ya first post.

Post subject:  Re: Ruf Dramas

in my ruf the front shackles are extended, the mounts are standard except drilling rear mounts 20mm mill back and up. I used king springs hd 2 inch lift. after driving my shackle where flipping over. much the same as the picture drawn. making zook hit bumpstop coming down hills.
just wondering any solutions. the front mount doesn't look like it can be moved very far forward only bout an inch.
