have you got a ball joint remover? or a tie rod end remover? otherwise, put alot of leverage on something between the chassis and the draglink, then hit the joint (NOT THE THREADED STUD) and push down and hope it budges. i hate doing it and will purchase a tie rod seperator for the next time i need to do it. |

2 hammers.. Ok lets see if I can explain this well enough... at the same time swing both hammers from opposites directions towards each other with the joint in between them give a few smack like this and it will "shock" the ball joint apart. Works every time. May want to soak with CRC or similar overnight before you start. |

I use the two hammer method as well, but i hold one hammer against the side of the ball joint and hit the other side of the ball joint with the other hammer. It will achieve the same result but thats the way i have always done it. Cheers Sam |

had this same problem the other day i tired a BFH, wd40, crc, blow torches and yelling at then i got a 3 jaw bearing puller. it will cost about $30 but it is money well spent. i have already used it to pull pitman arms, tie rods and drag links from steering arms and knuckle caps. |

If you need a hand Luke, bring it over and I'll show you how to remove it with only a hammer(and pliers for splitpin and spanner for nut). I guarantee it'll be free in less than 3 blows. |

I've always found a few good hard blows in the right place frees them up pretty quick. But you must hit in the right place or it will all turn messy |

If the others have not been clear enough, DONT hit the threaded stud part OR the balljoint that is attatched to the stud. Hit the part with the hole in the middle where the stud goes through. The hole is tapered and when its hammered the metal flexes a teeny bit, enough to squeeze the stud and balljoint out like a teeny turd. |
