G'day I think that during its live, being heated up and than cooled down the timing belt cover become distorted. it has a bulge where crankshaft pulley is. as a result pulley cut/rub through a cut in it. i was wondering if that is a common thing happening in many zooks or just in mine. is it worth getting new cover for $55-60? It is a dust cover preventing any shit getting onto timing belt. I can replace the timing cover seal, but don't know if i should worry about the cover itself. only water could get through the cut behind the pulley. cheers Chris |

same happened to mine i got a second hand one. i think you should replace it as it keeps anything from jaming in between the cog and belt ect and pos snapping the belt walking home is no fun |

Mine had also warped so I replaced it with another 2nd hander, but that one was warped up the top, causing a large gap between the top of the cover and the rocker cover. I found coon bridges gaps nicely hehe. |
