Hi all i have a new 2010 model sierra/jimny this car's purpose for me will be beach running in your opinions what mods , gear would you run on this car solely for beach and sand work. Thank you

hey mate,

there is a camping and wheeling trip this weekend just north of perth.

come along even just for a day, best way to learn is to get out there and do it. your car should be fine even if its stock, i took mine there stock and it was sweet.

to answer your question though.

ya gotta let ya tyres down to about 10 psi, if its really soft sand i use low range and then just drive as normal, ie so the revs arent screaming but its not gonna stall either.

i found my old all terrain maxxis 751's much better then my new mud tyres on sand.

Imho just for beach work I wouldn't mess with it, the std HT tyres are fine for sand its just a question as to the entries on and off the beach and local conditions as to whether or not lifting is justified.

where abouts? iron ore?

i spent a bit of time in the mines, but yeh make sure ya get along to one of our trips, you will learn heaps about your jimny.

Maybe you can make it to the Big Xmas Trip, wont be sand, will be gravel and rocks, but nothing difficult... we are going for a road trip to start the day, then a Pup trip to have lunch, then out to the Powerlines for some 4WDing...
